Estherlyn Frias, Narcotics Conspiracy Resulting in Death, New York 2023

GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: Bronx kingpin Estherlyn Frias, also known as ‘Platinum’ and ‘Silver,’ has been charged with conspiring to distribute narcotics resulting in death following the tragic overdose of a Greenwich, Connecticut victim. U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton and DEA Special Agent Frank A. Tarentino unveiled the charges against Frias today.

Clayton called out Frias for his years-long distribution of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, and other drugs. ‘Our communities’ suffering from this kind of personal profit ends now,’ Clayton declared. The DEA’s Tarentino echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to saving lives and targeting those responsible for poisoning communities.

The Indictment alleges that Frias conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine base, cocaine, heroin, and methadone from his Bronx apartment, which served as a stash house for significant quantities of drugs. The tragic death of Victim-1, who overdosed after purchasing drugs from Frias, underscores the severity of the charges against him.

Victim-1 met with Frias outside his apartment to purchase drugs and died within twelve hours, according to court documents. During a search of Frias’s apartment following Victim-1’s death, law enforcement discovered a staggering amount of illegal substances and drug paraphernalia. The DEA has promised to continue working with law enforcement partners to combat the illicit drug trade.

Estherlyn Frias is currently facing federal narcotics offenses resulting in death charges, and his trial before U.S. District Judge Kevin P. Castel is expected to shed more light on the deadly operations of this alleged drug kingpin.
