Burrell Marquis Jackson, Methamphetamine Distribution, Iowa 2026

A 35-year-old man from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been sentenced to over 15 years in federal prison for distributing large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine.

Burrell Marquis Jackson was sentenced to 188 months’ imprisonment on April 28, 2026, by United States District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams.

The charges against Jackson stemmed from a series of controlled buys of methamphetamine and cocaine conducted by law enforcement officers between July 2024 and August 2024. On August 20, 2024, officers searched Jackson’s home and located over 45 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine, and a digital scale.

In addition to the methamphetamine and cocaine, officers also found over $10,000 in cash on Jackson during a stop on August 20, 2024. Jackson was considered a career offender due to his two prior felony convictions for crimes of violence or controlled substance offenses.

The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Michael S.A. Hudson and investigated by the Cedar Rapids Police Department and the Iowa DCI Laboratory.

Jackson must also serve a four-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system. He is currently being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.
