A 69-year-old Georgia man, Jimmy Randell Chason, has been indicted in federal court for distributing methamphetamine in the Northern District of Florida. Chason, from Cairo, Georgia, was charged with three counts of distribution of methamphetamine and one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The indictment was announced by United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, John P. Heekin. Chason appeared in federal court for his arraignment and is scheduled for a change of plea on June 15, 2026.
The case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and North Florida High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA), as part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to combat transnational criminal organizations and protect communities from violent crime.
If convicted, Chason faces 10 years to life imprisonment on each count. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Eric K. Mountin. An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt.
