California Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Bank Robbery in Tennessee

A brazen attempted bank robbery turned deadly in Humboldt, Tennessee, when a California man shot a bank manager at point-blank range. Dominic Williams, 40, of Los Angeles, pleaded guilty to the charges in federal court.

According to court documents, Williams snuck into the carport of Pamela Janeice Frisbee’s home on the morning of March 18, 2015. Frisbee, a manager of a BancorpSouth bank, was preparing to leave for work. When she exited her house, Williams was hiding in front of her car with a Glock .40 caliber pistol.

Williams pointed the gun at Frisbee and demanded she drive to BancorpSouth. Once at the bank, he forced her to open the doors and demanded that she obtain money from the tellers’ drawers. When she told him there was no money, he fired multiple shots at her, striking her in the chest and arm.

Frisbee fell to the ground and played dead, and Williams shot and kicked out the back windows of the bank before fleeing. Witnesses and bank employees notified the Humboldt Police Department, and Williams was arrested after being seen stripping clothing into a dumpster a block from the bank.

Williams provided a recorded statement to FBI agents, admitting to the crime and leading them to his firearm. The prosecution is seeking a minimum sentence of 25 years in federal prison for Williams. He is scheduled to be sentenced on November 10, 2016.

The case is being investigated by the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and Humboldt Police Department, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Wilson.

Pamela Janeice Frisbee, the bank manager who was kidnapped and assaulted, was able to testify in federal court against Williams. Her bravery in the face of horrific violence is a testament to her strength and resilience.
