Cape May Man Locks Up 10 Years for Child Pornography
West Wildwood, NJ – Jeffrey Spicer, a 45-year-old man from West Wildwood, NJ, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing images and videos of child sexual abuse. U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced the sentence, which was handed down by U.S. District Judge Jerome B. Simandle in Camden federal court.
A forensic examination of electronic and digital media seized from Spicer’s residence revealed numerous images and videos of child sexual exploitation, including images saved on his cellular telephone by taking screenshot photos. Spicer also admitted to using a password-protected ‘app’ on his cell phone to store the child pornography.
In addition to the prison term, Spicer was also sentenced to 10 years of supervised release and ordered to pay $7,200 in restitution. This comes after Spicer pleaded guilty to one count of knowingly possessing child pornography.
The investigation leading to Spicer’s sentencing was a collaborative effort between the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, the Lower Township Police Department, and the West Wildwood Police Department.
