A Carbon County man is behind bars after being sentenced to 132 months’ imprisonment for methamphetamine trafficking.
Curtis Margle, age 34, of Lehighton, was sentenced on May 21, 2024, by U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine.
According to United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam, Margle admitted to possessing between 200 grams and 350 grams of high-quality crystal methamphetamine for distribution in the Schuylkill County and Carbon County areas in 2022.
The charges stem from an investigation in which investigators made a purchase of crystal methamphetamine from Margle in March 2022 in Schuylkill County and later seized an additional quantity of crystal methamphetamine from Margle.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Robert J. O’Hara is prosecuting the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities nationwide.
The PSN program, launched by the Department of Justice on May 26, 2021, focuses on fostering trust and legitimacy in communities, supporting community-based organizations, setting focused enforcement priorities, and measuring results.
Margle’s sentencing marks another successful takedown in the ongoing effort to combat methamphetamine trafficking in Pennsylvania.
