Eurico Da Silva-Roubideaux, Carjacking, South Dakota 2024

Mission Man Indicted on Charges of Carjacking, Robbery, and Assault.

Acting United States Attorney Dennis Holmes announced that Eurico Da Silva-Roubideaux, a 20-year-old man from Mission, South Dakota, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly committing carjacking, robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and assaulting, resisting and impeding a federal officer.

The indictment alleges that on February 7, 2021, Da Silva-Roubideaux assaulted an individual with a hammer with intent to do bodily harm and stole the individual’s vehicle in Todd County, South Dakota. Additionally, on February 8, 2021, Da Silva-Roubideaux allegedly forcibly assaulted, opposed, impeded, intimidated, and interfered with law enforcement officers who were employed by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services.

The maximum penalty upon conviction is up to 20 years in federal prison and/or a $250,000 fine, 3 years of supervised release, and $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.

A trial date has not been set for Da Silva-Roubideaux, who is currently remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk Albertson is prosecuting the case, which is being conducted by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services.

The charges against Da Silva-Roubideaux are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Da Silva-Roubideaux appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on April 23, 2021, and pled not guilty to the indictment. He was indicted on March 9, 2021.
