WASHINGTON, D.C. – Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Acting Chairman Caroline D. Pham announced a new initiative today focused on accelerating the implementation of recommendations from the President’s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets report. The initiative, dubbed a “crypto sprint,” will prioritize stakeholder engagement regarding the report’s findings.
Pham highlighted the administration’s commitment to facilitating digital asset trading at the federal level, framing it as a key priority. This follows an earlier announcement of the crypto sprint earlier this month. The CFTC’s efforts are being coordinated with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Project Crypto, responding to a call for American leadership in the digital asset space.
The CFTC is specifically seeking public feedback on issues related to leveraged, margined, or financed retail trading on CFTC-registered exchanges. Pham emphasized the administration’s support for innovation in the crypto market, calling it a “Golden Age” and urging market participants to capitalize on the opportunity.
The agency is inviting all interested parties to submit comments and suggestions on all recommendations outlined in the President’s Working Group report, titled “Strengthening American Leadership in Digital Financial Technology.” The CFTC will accept written submissions through October 20, 2025, via its website, where all received comments will be publicly published. This move signals a proactive approach by the CFTC to regulate and foster growth within the rapidly evolving digital asset landscape.
The initiative reflects a broader push by the Trump Administration to establish the United States as a leader in the crypto industry. Pham’s announcement underscores the CFTC’s commitment to operationalizing the President’s directive and navigating the complexities of digital asset regulation.
