Ex-Convict Flees Halfway House, Faces 5-Year Max Sentence
A former convict is facing a possible five-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to escaping from a halfway house in Connecticut.
According to court documents, CHARLES HARRISON, 34, was sentenced in the Northern District of New York to 120 months of imprisonment in December 2012 for a narcotics trafficking offense.
Harrison was transferred to the Drapelick Center, a Residential Reentry Center in Bloomfield, to complete his custodial sentence. However, on September 7, 2021, he left the facility on a Day Pass and failed to return.
Harrison was located and arrested in New York on March 29, 2022, and has been detained since his arrest.
He is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea in Hartford on January 6, 2023.
This matter was investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Amanda S. Oakes.
Harrison’s offense carries a maximum term of imprisonment of five years, and he will face the consequences of his actions in court.
