Charles Lee Segebart, Methamphetamine Distribution, Iowa 2019

A Schleswig, Iowa man has been sentenced to over 10 years in federal prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine, according to court documents.

Charles Lee Segebart, 27, was sentenced to 124 months in prison and fined $100 after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in February 2019.

According to court records, Segebart admitted to distributing methamphetamine from December 2016 to July 23, 2018. He was stopped by law enforcement on July 23, 2018, and a quarter-pound of methamphetamine was seized from his vehicle.

Segebart told law enforcement that he received an estimated two to three pounds of methamphetamine per week from another source to distribute.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jack Lammers and investigated by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Department of Narcotics enforcement.

Segebart was sentenced in Sioux City by United States District Court Chief Judge Leonard T. Strand. He must also serve a 5-year term of supervised release after the prison term.
