Grimy Times Exposes Charles Pierre Watson, Repeat Offender, in Alabama Crack Cocaine Bust
MOBILE, Ala. – In a shocking turn of events, 29-year-old Charles Pierre Watson of Bay Minette has been sentenced to 54 months in federal prison for his second federal drug conviction.
Watson pled guilty to six counts of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. Judge Kristi Dubose imposed the sentence on February 22, 2024. In addition to his prison term, Watson was ordered to serve a six-year term of supervised release, which will commence at the completion of his prison sentence.
The court documents revealed that Watson was convicted in 2006 of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. He was then ordered to serve 115 months in prison. However, his prison sentence was reduced to 88 months in 2008 due to the amendment to the federal sentencing guidelines. It was further reduced to 54 months in 2009 after he cooperated with authorities.
Watson’s supervised release term, which was imposed to follow his release from imprisonment, was revoked in 2011. He was then ordered to serve an additional 24 months in custody for violating the conditions imposed in connection with his supervision during that time.
The Bay Minette Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, while Gloria Bedwell from the United States Attorney’s Office in Mobile prosecuted it.
Watson will have to pay $600 in special mandatory assessments as part of his sentence. This case serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of repeat offender behavior and the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to combat drug trafficking in the state.
