Chelsea Fore, Methamphetamine Distribution, West Virginia 2016

In a major blow to the illicit drug trade in Charleston, West Virginia, Chelsea Fore, a 25-year-old methamphetamine dealer, has been sentenced to three years and five months in federal prison for her role in distributing methamphetamine in the area.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia, Fore was involved in a drug deal that took place on October 13, 2016, in the parking lot of the Kmart location on 4th Avenue in Charleston. Fore was caught by officers with the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team after a confidential informant was used to purchase methamphetamine from her.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Fore was responsible for distributing approximately two-and-a-half ounces of methamphetamine during the course of her drug trafficking. Fore’s actions were a significant threat to the community and a major contributor to the opioid epidemic that has plagued West Virginia in recent years.

Assistant United States Attorney Monica D. Coleman led the prosecution of Fore, who pleaded guilty to the charges. United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston imposed the sentence, which is a significant step towards holding accountable those responsible for the illicit sale and misuse of illegal drugs in West Virginia.
