Gun Control Act Violations Plague Louisiana as Chhaya Lim Faces Justice

A 45-year-old Cambodian national has been brought to book for violating the Federal Gun Control Act in Louisiana. Chhaya Lim, a citizen of Cambodia, has pleaded guilty to a two-count Indictment charging him with violations of the Federal Gun Control Act.

According to court documents, on or about March 2, 2015, Lim was found in possession of a TriStar 9mm semi-automatic pistol and a Marlin Model 6082, .22 caliber rifle. This is a serious breach of the Federal Gun Control Act, and Lim faces the consequences of his actions.

Lim is set to face a maximum term of imprisonment of ten years, a fine of $250,000, three years supervised release after imprisonment, and a $100 special assessment. U.S. District Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt has set sentencing for May 17, 2017.
