Chicago Man Sentenced in Crack Cocaine, Heroin Conspiracy

Chicago, IL – David T. Walls, Jr., a/k/a ‘Gun,’ is headed behind bars for his role in a major crack cocaine and heroin trafficking operation in Williamson County. Walls, 36, was sentenced to 140 months in federal prison, followed by 8 years of supervised release and fined $850.00.

The investigation revealed that Walls and his accomplices transported the illicit substances from northern Illinois to distribute in Southern Illinois. The haul included over 427 grams of heroin and a staggering 714 grams of crack cocaine.

The district court found that Walls and his associates sometimes possessed firearms during the commission of the drug offense, resulting in a sentencing enhancement. The offense occurred between 2012 and October 2014.

The case was assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Amanda A. Robertson for prosecution. Southern Illinois Enforcement conducted the investigation, with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Walls had previously pled guilty to an indictment charging him with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and heroin. His sentencing was handed down on January 14, 2016.
