Kyle Patrick Tormey, a 41-year-old from Newport, Rhode Island, has pleaded guilty to exploiting a minor, attempting to exploit another, and possessing child sexual abuse material. The crimes occurred when Tormey repeatedly communicated with a minor female on social media, persuading her to send him photos and meet for sex in exchange for payment. The investigation, which involved the FBI and local police, led to the execution of federal search warrants and the recovery of incriminating electronic communications and images. Tormey’s guilty plea was entered on June 30, 2026, and he will be sentenced on September 29, 2026.
