Child Predator Foiled in Gibraltar
Grimy Times can now reveal that a notorious child predator, Colin Fisher, has been apprehended in Gibraltar due to the tireless efforts of international law enforcement agencies.
Fisher, a British national, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession and distribution of indecent images of children, in addition to a voyeurism charge unrelated to the abuse. He is currently serving a 3-year, 8-month sentence.
The arrest was made possible by the cooperation of various nations, all of which participated in a joint initiative launched by INTERPOL Washington in early 2014. The program aimed to distribute child exploitation leads to member countries.
By May of the same year, the service was expanded to around 140 INTERPOL member countries. By November 2015, over 1 million leads had been distributed, with 38 countries requesting additional information for follow-up investigations.
Fast forward to April 11th, 2016, less than two years later, the initiative had successfully distributed over 2 million leads across 130 different countries. The program’s focus has now shifted to developing the ability of National Central Bureaus to retrieve images without involving the USNCB.
The collaborative effort has proven to be a game-changer in the fight against child exploitation. With the help of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Cyber Tipline Reports, law enforcement agencies worldwide can now access vital information to track down predators like Colin Fisher.
