A Columbia, Missouri woman has been sentenced to 46 months in prison after pleading guilty to animal cruelty charges. Emily Brock, 32, was accused of mistreating a chimpanzee at a local animal sanctuary. The incident occurred on February 10, 2022 at the sanctuary, where Brock was a volunteer.

According to court documents, Brock was charged with two counts of animal cruelty, a Class D felony. She pleaded guilty to both counts on October 27, 2022 and was sentenced on March 15, 2023.
