Chris Weaver, Child Pornography, Pennsylvania 2024

HARRISBURG, Pa. – A Huntingdon County man has been charged with receiving child pornography, a serious crime that puts vulnerable children at risk.

Chris Weaver, 50, of Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania, was charged on February 21, 2024 with receiving child pornography between July 1, 2020 and January 31, 2023, in Huntingdon County.

The case was investigated by the FBI, which works tirelessly to protect children and bring perpetrators to justice. The FBI’s dedication to this cause is evident in its extensive resources and expertise dedicated to investigating child exploitation cases.

Assistant U.S. Attorney K. Wesley (Wes) Mishoe is prosecuting the case, working closely with the FBI to ensure that justice is served.

The maximum penalty upon conviction for the charged offense is 20 years imprisonment, a lifetime term of supervised release following imprisonment, a fine, and a special assessment. A sentence following a finding of guilt is imposed by a judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

Weaver’s case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the government to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
