In a shocking case of human trafficking, Christian Alexander Augustus, a 26-year-old man from Stockton, California, was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison for transporting a teenage girl across state lines to engage in prostitution.
According to the court records, Augustus, also known as ‘Sir Ceeco’ and ‘Ceeco,’ directed the transportation of the victim from Los Angeles and Orange counties to locations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Phoenix from December 2018 to July 2019. His intention was to have the victim work as a prostitute to obtain money for him.
Augustus forced the victim to work on the streets and advertised her services on the internet. He also admitted to collecting the money the victim obtained by committing commercial sex acts.
The Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force, which includes local law enforcement agencies such as Homeland Security Investigations and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, investigated this matter.
Assistant United States Attorney Jake D. Nare of the Santa Ana Branch Office prosecuted this case.
The court stated that Augustus’ ‘egregious conduct victimized a minor by causing her to engage in sex with unknown customers purely for defendant’s financial benefit.’ The seriousness of the offense was furthered by Augustus’ use of violence in this case.
The victim suffered physical and emotional abuse at the hands of Augustus, who maintained control over her by using violence. The court’s decision to sentence Augustus to 151 months in federal prison is a significant step towards justice for the victim.
