San Diego Man Sentenced for Sex Trafficking of Children
A San Diego man has been sentenced to 100 months in prison for his role in the sex trafficking of children.
Jonathan Madison, 31, was arrested in April 2020 on sex trafficking charges and ordered detained without bond.
Madison pleaded guilty in February 2021 and admitted to recruiting, advertising, and soliciting a teenage girl to engage in commercial sex acts. He also admitted to videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl and transmitting the video to her by cell phone.
During the time period of November 2017 through April 2020, Madison transported underage girls and women and provided them to customers for commercial sex acts, which took place in California and Colorado.
Madison was sentenced to 100 months in prison, ordered to serve a five-year term of supervised release, and required to pay a $5,000 mandatory penalty assessment. He will also be required to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
Madison’s case was investigated by the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force, which consists of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, California Department of Justice, and other local and federal agencies.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of California, prosecuted the case.
