Christian Sandoval, Producing Child Pornography, Florida 2024

A 22-year-old Davie man has been handed a 19-year prison sentence for his role in producing child pornography.

Christian Sandoval, 22, was sentenced to 231 months in prison after pleading guilty to producing child pornography. The charges stem from Sandoval’s interactions with an 8-year-old child on a video-sharing application in 2020.

According to court documents, Sandoval pretended to be a teenager on the internet and lured the child into creating sexually explicit videos. The child’s mother discovered the videos and reported the conduct to law enforcement.

The FBI, with assistance from the Town of Davie Police Department and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jodi L. Anton prosecuted the case, which was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the federal government to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Sandoval’s prison sentence is a result of his guilty plea in April. The case highlights the importance of protecting children from online predators and the need for continued efforts to combat child sexual exploitation.

The case is a reminder that the federal government takes child sex crimes seriously and will prosecute those who engage in such behavior to the fullest extent of the law.
