Elyria man Christopher Goodin, 33, has been indicted for the heinous crime of child exploitation in Utah. Between June and August 18, 2018, Goodin controlled multiple social media accounts that he used to communicate with a young girl in Utah.
According to court documents, Goodin posed as ‘Shorty853,’ a young girl who was harassed and threatened by an older man. He then posed as ‘Sambam01,’ the older man, and threatened the victim, telling her that he would stop bothering her if she sent him sexually explicit photos. The victim, horrified by the situation, sent the photos as demanded.
The indictment charges Goodin with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of receipt of visual depictions of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and one count of possessing child pornography. If convicted, the defendant’s sentence will be determined by the court after review of factors unique to this case, including his prior criminal record, his role in the offense, and the characteristics of the violation.
