Omaha Man Sentenced for Interstate Prostitution Enterprise Conspiracy

Omaha, NE – In a shocking case of organized crime, Christopher J. Tierney, a 43-year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska, has been sentenced to 3 years probation and fined $15,000 for his involvement in an interstate prostitution enterprise conspiracy.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Tierney was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to use facilities in interstate commerce in aid of a racketeering enterprise, specifically a business enterprise involving prostitution, and to induce travel in interstate commerce with intent to engage in prostitution. This charge was brought against him on August 19, 2013, and he pleaded guilty to the crime.

The investigation, which involved the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Omaha Police Department, and the Internal Revenue Service, revealed that Tierney assisted in the operation of three ‘spas’ in Omaha, Nebraska, between April 2008 and January 2012. These spas, which were referred to as the 93rd Street Spa, the 72nd Street Spa, and the It Works Spa, were fronts for prostitution.

Tierney played a key role in the operation of these spas, providing computer and electronic services, setting up a website that advertised available services and contact information, and conducting ‘photo shoots’ of workers for inclusion in the website’s ‘Members Only’ section. He also set up and maintained surveillance cameras at the spas, allowing him and others to remotely monitor the activities inside and outside the buildings.

In addition to his involvement in the operation of the spas, Tierney created and upgraded a computerized record-keeping and management system, entitled ‘Spa Manager.’ This system generated text messages to workers’ cell phones to notify them of upcoming appointments and tracked various data related to the spas’ operation.

As part of his sentence, Tierney was ordered to pay a fine of $15,000. The investigation into this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Omaha Police Department, and the Internal Revenue Service, under the auspices of the Child Exploitation Task Force, which includes the Council Bluffs Police Department, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the La Vista Police Department, the Mills County Sheriff’s Office, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
