Christopher Jaye Boykin, Child Sex Abuse Video Possession, FL 2023

Christopher Jaye Boykin, a 35-year-old convicted felon from Lisman, Alabama, is headed to federal prison for nearly eight years after admitting to downloading and possessing dozens of child sex abuse videos in Jacksonville, Florida. U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales Howard handed down a 7-year-and-11-month sentence, ensuring Boykin will face years behind bars for crimes committed behind a keyboard.

Court records show that in February 2014, agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) traced child pornography to a host computer tied to Boykin’s Jacksonville residence. The machine had been shared on a file-sharing network, exposing horrific material to others online. Boykin later pawned that same computer at a local shop—where it was seized by law enforcement, providing an early trail of evidence.

On November 14, 2014, HSI agents raided Boykin’s home and seized a second computer. Forensic analysis revealed at least 50 videos depicting the sexual abuse of young children. During questioning, Boykin admitted both computers held child pornography for his own ‘viewing pleasure,’ according to federal prosecutors.

Boykin wasn’t a first-time offender. In 2013, he was convicted of two felony drug offenses in Jacksonville, marking a criminal pattern that culminated in these far more disturbing charges. As part of his sentence, he must now serve a 5-year term of supervised release, register as a sex offender, and pay $4,000 in restitution split between two identified victims.

‘This child predator thought he could be anonymous behind a computer screen,’ said HSI Tampa Special Agent in Charge James C. Spero. ‘But thanks to the investigative work of HSI special agents, and our partners at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Jacksonville Beach Police Department, this criminal will be held accountable for his crimes.’

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney D. Rodney Brown and brought under Project Safe Childhood, a DOJ initiative launched in 2006 to combat the explosion of child sexual exploitation. The program unites federal, state, and local agencies to track down offenders, rescue victims, and dismantle networks of abuse. For more, visit www.justice.gov/psc.
