Moises Valdez, Child Pornography Production, Texas 2016

A federal complaint has been filed against Moises Valdez, 41, of Humble, Texas, charging him with production of child pornography, an offense that carries a minimum of 15 and up to 30 years in federal prison.

The charges stem from an FBI investigation that began in 2016 when agents executed a search warrant at Valdez’s residence and seized a laptop and desktop computer. A subsequent forensic review of the devices uncovered approximately 75 images and more than 180 videos of child pornography, including a video that appeared to be taken from a cellular phone and depicted an underage female being vaginally penetrated by an adult male.

According to the complaint, the video showed an adult male’s fingers spreading open the vagina of the child, who appeared to be unconscious throughout the sexual assault. The victim’s wife identified the child in the video as a minor female who would have been under the age of five at the time of the assault.

The FBI has been unable to locate Valdez, and a warrant remains outstanding for his arrest. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the FBI at 713-693-5000.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kimberly Ann Leo as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

A criminal complaint is a formal accusation of criminal conduct, not evidence. A defendant is presumed innocent unless convicted through due process of law.
