McKeesport Man Charged with Possessing Fentanyl, Fentanyl Analogue

A resident of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of violating federal narcotics laws. The indictment alleges that Christopher Jordan, age 40, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, possessed with the intent to distribute 10 grams or more of a mixture containing fentanyl and a fentanyl analogue, as well as a quantity of fentanyl, all Schedule II controlled substances.

According to the indictment, the alleged offense took place on March 11, 2021.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not less than five years to a maximum of 40 years in prison, a fine of $5,000,000 or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney Brendan T. Conway is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The Allegheny County Police conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.

An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The alleged offense is a serious one, and we will continue to monitor the case as it moves forward.
