BANGOR, Maine – A Bronx, New York man was sentenced to 85 months in prison for crack cocaine trafficking in Maine. According to court records, on May 2, 2020, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a residence in Cutler, Maine.
During the search, law enforcement officers recovered cocaine base, heroin, a firearm, and more than $4,000. Martinez and others were engaged in the distribution of controlled substances from the residence.
The search warrant was executed in an effort to disrupt the distribution of controlled substances in the region.
Christopher Martinez, 31, was sentenced to 85 months in prison and four years of supervised release. Martinez pleaded guilty on November 20, 2020.
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the FBI, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Hancock and Washington County Sheriff’s Offices, and the Maine State Police investigated the case.
This effort is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach.
The total amount of cocaine base recovered during the search was not specified in the press release. The case demonstrates the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
