Ex-St. Louis Cop Sentenced for Assault on Undercover Officer
Christopher Myers, a 30-year-old former St. Louis Metropolitan Police officer, has been sentenced to a year of probation for willfully depriving a fellow officer of their civil rights during a 2017 protest.
According to the plea agreement, Myers damaged Luther Hall’s cell phone by throwing it during a protest in downtown St. Louis. The incident occurred in an effort by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police to maintain peace and order.
The case stems from the acquittal of a former police officer on a state murder charge, which led to protests in the area. The undercover officer, Luther Hall, was assigned to the protest detail at the time.
Myers pleaded guilty to willfully depriving another of their civil rights by damaging Hall’s property. The incident is alleged to have occurred on the same day as the protests in 2017.
