Bank Robbery Suspect Charged in Pittsburgh
Clarence Troutman, 38, of McKees Rocks, has been charged with bank robbery in connection with two incidents in Pittsburgh and Crafton, PA.
Troutman is accused of robbing a First Niagara Bank at 810 South Aiken Ave in Pittsburgh on December 23, 2014, and a Citizens Bank at 31 Foster Avenue in Crafton on December 30, 2014.
The two-count indictment was handed down by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh. According to the indictment, both banks were insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both, per count. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and the Crafton Borough Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
