A 29-year-old Clarksburg man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for selling methamphetamine near a public playground in Harrison County, West Virginia.
Antwann Terrance Horton, 29, of Clarksburg, was sentenced to 121 months in federal prison and six years of supervised release for the distribution of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a protected location, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
The investigation revealed that Horton was selling methamphetamine in Harrison County, with one of the sales taking place near a public playground in Clarksburg, a location clearly marked as off-limits to such illicit activities.
The case was prosecuted on behalf of the United States by Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley, who demonstrated a strong commitment to protecting the community from the scourge of methamphetamine.
The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force, and the Fairmont Police Department, all of which worked together to bring Horton to justice.
Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the case, handing down the sentence that will keep Horton behind bars for the next decade. The community can rest a little easier knowing that one of its most egregious meth dealers has been held accountable for his crimes.
