Cleveland Woman Charged in Firearms Heist

A brazen crime has shaken the quiet streets of Broadview Heights, Ohio, as a Cleveland woman has been charged with stealing firearms from a local gun store.

Michaele N. Lenzy, 28, of Cleveland, is accused of stealing two semi-automatic firearms from LTD Gun Shop and Pistol Range on December 13, 2015. The indictment alleges that Lenzy knowingly stole and unlawfully took away the firearms, which is a serious crime.

The indictment is the result of a joint investigation by the Broadview Heights Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Assistant United States Attorney Benedict S. Gullo is prosecuting the case.

Lenzy’s sentence will be determined by the court after reviewing factors such as her prior criminal record, role in the offense, and the characteristics of the violation. If convicted, Lenzy faces a maximum sentence, but the exact punishment will be determined by the court.

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. Lenzy is entitled to a fair trial, where the government will have to prove her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

The incident has left the community shaken, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. As the case moves forward, one thing is clear: justice will be served.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office said, ‘We take all crimes involving firearms seriously, and we will do everything in our power to bring those responsible to justice.’
