In a landmark case, Adam White, 27, of Falmouth, Maine, has been sentenced to 130 months in prison for his role in a massive cocaine trafficking operation. White, who pleaded guilty in June 2014, was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
According to court records, on February 12, 2013, White’s vehicle was stopped in Portland after an investigation revealed that he planned to conduct a drug transaction. A search of his car revealed approximately 400 grams of cocaine in the trunk and a handgun and loaded magazine near the driver’s seat. The search of his home in Falmouth turned up an additional 3 kilograms of cocaine, over $13,000 in cash, and other items consistent with drug trafficking, including a loaded handgun.
The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Maine State Police, and the Portland, South Portland, and Falmouth Police Departments. White’s sentence includes 5 years of supervised release following his prison term.
