Collin Fletcher, 52, of Bridgeport, is going down for pushing thousands of capsules of ecstasy across state lines. The Jamaican national pleaded guilty today in New Haven federal court to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute MDA and MDMA—two synthetic drugs widely known as ecstasy.
Fletcher admitted to scheming with others to flood Connecticut and New York markets with the party drug, turning cities into profit zones. On October 27 and November 1, 2016, law enforcement executed two controlled buys directly from Fletcher, tightening the noose with recorded evidence and seized narcotics.
The operation collapsed on November 18, 2016, when Fletcher tried to unload approximately 10,000 ecstasy capsules to an undercover agent. The stash weighed in at 923 grams of MDA—a haul with serious street value and an even heavier federal penalty.
Now facing the full wrath of U.S. sentencing guidelines, Fletcher is locked up without bond since his arrest. Chief U.S. District Judge Janet C. Hall set his sentencing for May 12, 2017, where he could draw up to 20 years behind bars.
The takedown was led by the DEA’s New Haven Tactical Diversion Squad, a multi-jurisdictional strike force that includes police from Bristol, Greenwich, Hamden, Milford, New Haven, Shelton, Vernon, and Wilton. Their coordinated work dismantled a network built on intoxication and deception.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Avi Perry is prosecuting the case, underscoring the DOJ’s ongoing push to crush mid-level drug traffickers feeding addiction in urban corridors. For Fletcher, the high is over—now comes the time.
