JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A Columbia, Mo., man has been handed a 15-year federal prison sentence for an armed bank heist in Boonville.
Drake Adam Stockton-Kenney, 32, pleaded guilty to the armed robbery of Alliant Bank in Boonville on June 25, 2021, where he stole $22,027. The sentencing by U.S. District Judge Rosann A. Ketchmark came after Stockton-Kenney admitted pointing a Taurus 9mm handgun at bank employees.
Stockton-Kenney was also involved in a series of armed robberies across Missouri between April 17 and June 25, 2021. These included Check into Cash in Moberly, World Finance in Mexico, Advance America in Marshall, Check ‘n Go in Hannibal, and Alliant Bank in Pilot Grove.
His spree began just weeks after his parole on prior robbery convictions. Despite a parole in February 2021 following his conviction, Stockton-Kenney’s criminal activity relaunched with vigor.
The government dismissed federal charges related to the additional robberies but used them as grounds for a longer sentence than recommended by federal sentencing guidelines.
Prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael S. Oliver and investigated by multiple law enforcement agencies, this case marks another victory in Missouri’s fight against financial crime.
