COLUMBUS, Ga. – Reginald Miller, 35, is facing up to 10 years in prison after he was caught with a Glock handgun during a traffic stop in November 2017.
According to court documents, Miller was driving when Columbus Police officers pulled him over. During the stop, they found the handgun in his possession. Miller was previously convicted of Theft by Taking and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, both in Superior Court in Muscogee County.
Miller’s arrest comes as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and making neighborhoods safer.
Project Safe Neighborhoods has been successfully bringing together law enforcement agencies to reduce violent crime. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has made turning the tide of rising violent crime in America a top priority.
The case against Miller was investigated by the Columbus Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Crawford Seals.
Miller pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon before Chief U.S. District Court Judge Clay D. Land in Columbus, Georgia on September 5, 2018. He faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The reinvigoration of Project Safe Neighborhoods was announced in October 2017 by Attorney General Sessions as part of a series of actions to address rising violent crime in America.
