Conway Man Jailed 46 Months for Heroin, Cocaine Sales
A 42-year-old Conway man was sentenced to 46 months imprisonment followed by 3 years of supervised release for Possession with Intent to Distribute and to Distribution of a Quantity of Heroin and a Quantity of Cocaine Base in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1). Quentin Bernard Myers was found guilty of selling heroin and cocaine base in Horry County and Georgetown County.
The investigation, which began in early 2015, was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Florence, South Carolina, and the Fifteenth Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) Conway, South Carolina. Agents learned that Myers was involved in the sale of illegal drugs and arranged a controlled buy of heroin and cocaine base from him in March 2015.
The controlled buy was followed by two more in May and June 2015. Agents from the DEA and DEU made these purchases to gather evidence against Myers. Assistant United States Attorney Christopher D. Taylor of the Florence office prosecuted the case.
According to the court documents, Myers sold heroin and cocaine base to undercover agents on multiple occasions. The evidence presented at the change of plea hearing on November 29, 2016, and the sentencing hearing established that Myers was involved in the sale of these illegal substances.
United States District Judge R. Bryan Harwell of Florence sentenced Myers to 46 months imprisonment, which is approximately 3.8 years. Following his imprisonment, he will be under 3 years of supervised release. Lance Crick can be reached at (864) 282-2105 for further information.
The case is a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Horry County and Georgetown County. Law enforcement agencies continue to work tirelessly to dismantle drug trafficking networks and bring those responsible to justice.
