Buckley Sentenced for Cocaine Trafficking in NH, Court Records Show
Corey Buckley, a 43-year-old former Plaistow man, has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for his intent to traffic more than 2 pounds of cocaine in New Hampshire, according to court documents.
The sentencing occurred on February 2, 2023, as U.S. District Court Judge Joseph Laplante handed down the sentence. Buckley was also ordered to pay a fine of $5000 and serve 3 years of supervised release.
Buckley pleaded guilty to charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine on February 2, 2023. The charges stem from a months-long investigation into Buckley’s drug trafficking activities, which led law enforcement to discover approximately 1.1 kilograms of cocaine in the kitchen of a residence where Buckley was living in May 2022.
As part of the investigation, law enforcement also seized a ledger and a scale, along with $50,000 in U.S. currency and two firearms. The $50,000 in currency, firearms, and a Rolex watch were forfeited as part of the resolution.
The Drug Enforcement Administration led the investigation, with valuable assistance provided from the Massachusetts State Police and the Haverhill Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Charles L. Rombeau prosecuted the case, with assistance from Assistant United States Attorney Robert Rabuck on the forfeiture part of the case.
Buckley has been detained since his arrest on May 19, 2022, when law enforcement took him into custody for his alleged role in the cocaine trafficking operation.
Buckley’s sentencing is a significant blow to the local community, which has been grappling with the effects of drug trafficking for years. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to combat the illicit drug trade.
