Talladega Prisoner Indicted for Brutal Assault on Correctional Officer
An inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Talladega, Alabama, is facing federal charges for brutally assaulting a correctional officer in May 2014.
Cornelius Moore, 39, was indicted by a federal grand jury for assaulting a correctional officer engaged in official duties, involving physical contact, according to U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance and FBI Special Agent in Charge Roger C. Stanton.
The one-count indictment was filed in U.S. District Court, charging Moore with a maximum sentence of eight years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
