Sarah R. Gates, a 40-year-old woman from Cortland, New York, has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for conspiring to sexually exploit a child under five years old. The child was photographed while being subjected to abuse.

Senior United States District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy handed down the 45-year prison sentence, which is in line with the sentence previously imposed on Perry. Perry was also sentenced to 45 years in prison on November 3, 2020.
Gates will also be required to serve a 15-year term of supervised release after her release from prison. As a result of her conviction, she will be required to register as a sex offender upon her release.
The case against Gates was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the City of Cortland Police Department, and the New York State Police-Computer Crimes Unit.
