Cristian Alberto Nunez-Hipolito, Deported Alien Found in the United States, Nevada 2024

A Mexican national was sentenced Monday by United States District Judge Cristina D. Silva to 17 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for illegally reentering the United States after being removed from the country on two prior occasions.

Cristian Alberto Nunez-Hipolito, a Mexican national, was found by immigration officials on September 29, 2024, after he was previously deported on or about September 17, 2018, and January 10, 2020.

Nunez-Hipolito came into ICE custody on September 30, 2024, from the Clark County Detention Center on an immigration detainer after being arrested by state law enforcement on unrelated charges.

Nunez-Hipolito pleaded guilty to one count of Deported Alien Found in the United States. This was his second such conviction, as he was convicted in 2019 in the Southern District of Arizona for the same crime. Nunez-Hipolito also has a 2017 Robbery conviction out of the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada prosecuted the case. Members of the public can report crimes and suspicious activity by dialing 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or completing the online tip form.

Nunez-Hipolito’s history of crime and deportation is a stark reminder of the consequences of reentering the country illegally. His sentence serves as a warning to those who would attempt to circumvent our immigration laws.

United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada and Salt Lake City Field Office Director Michael Bernacke made the announcement.

The ICE Salt Lake City, Las Vegas Sub-Office investigated the case.
