Curtis Ellington, Enticement of a Minor, New York 2023
A registered sex offender has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for enticing a 15-year-old minor to engage in sexual activity.
Curtis Ellington, 36, of Junction City, Kansas, was convicted of enticement of a minor and required to register as a sex offender after a previous conviction in Orange County Court for Rape in the 1st Degree: Intercourse with A Person Less Than 11 Years Old.
In April 2023, Ellington traveled to Orange County, New York, and slept at the home of the 15-year-old minor, known as Victim-1. While there, he engaged in sexual activity with Victim-1, despite his previous conviction and requirement to register as a sex offender.
Ellington had also engaged in numerous communications with Victim-1 via Instagram, discussing his desire to engage in sexual activity with the minor.
U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Jay Clayton, praised the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Middletown Police Department, the Geary County Sheriff’s Office in Junction City, Kansas, the New York State Police, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Kansas in connection with this investigation.
Ellington was sentenced to 25 years in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
