D-Ray Sentenced for Heroin, Cocaine Distribution in New Orleans

New Orleans, Louisiana – Donald Myles, alias ‘D-Ray’, aged 46, was sentenced on June 26, 2024, by U.S. District Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon for his involvement in a drug distribution conspiracy. Myles pleaded guilty to distributing over 100 grams of heroin and cocaine, violations of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1), 841(b)(1)(B), 841(b)(1)(C), and 846.

According to court documents, the Federal Bureau Investigation New Orleans Gang Task Force and the New Orleans Police Department investigated Myles for his role in drug operations starting in September 2020. The investigation included multiple controlled purchases of drugs from Myles, revealing a conspiracy with JOHN CRAWFORD, KEVIN JOHNSON, CHRISTOPHER JOHNSON, and others.

The sentence handed down by Judge Lemmon includes 70 months imprisonment, four years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment fee. This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), aiming to reduce violent crime and gun violence in communities.

On May 26, 2021, the Department launched a strategy to strengthen PSN with a focus on fostering trust, supporting community-based organizations, strategic enforcement, and measuring results. The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation – New Orleans Gang Task Force, supported by local law enforcement agencies.

Assistant United States Attorney Rachal Cassagne is handling the prosecution for this significant case. Myles’ sentencing marks a victory in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in New Orleans.
