A 29-year-old Dingman’s Ferry man has pleaded guilty to receiving and distributing child pornography, a serious crime that has shaken the community.
Daniel Decker, 29, admitted to using a computer between January 2, 2015, and January 20, 2015, to obtain and distribute images of young children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
According to United States Attorney Peter Smith, Decker’s actions were a clear violation of the law and a threat to the safety of our children.
The charge against Decker resulted from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office.
Decker now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a potential maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
A sentencing date will be scheduled after the completion of a pre-sentence investigation report.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
