Dingman’s Ferry man Daniel Decker, 29, is facing serious allegations after an Information was filed charging him with receiving and distributing child pornography.
According to United States Attorney Peter Smith, Decker allegedly used a computer between January 2, 2015, and January 20, 2015, to receive and distribute images of young children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
The charge stems from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Lackawanna County district Attorney’s Office.
Decker faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a potential maximum sentence of 20 years in prison if he is convicted of the charge.
As part of the Project Safe Childhood initiative, launched in May 2006, Decker’s case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa.
The case is ongoing, and Decker’s guilt has not yet been proven. He is presumed innocent until found guilty in court.
