A Luzerne County man has been sentenced to 97 months in prison for his role in distributing child pornography.
Steven Wolfe, 25, of Pittston, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani in Scranton yesterday.
Wolfe had previously pleaded guilty to using a computer to download and distribute images of child pornography to others, including persons in the United Kingdom.
The investigation that led to Wolfe’s arrest was a joint effort between Homeland Security Investigations, Kent Police in England, Luzerne County Detectives, and Pittston Police.
Wolfe will serve five years of supervised release following his prison sentence. He must also register as a sex offender and comply with all of the requirements of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa prosecuted the case.
