North Carolina Man Sentenced for Methamphetamine and Fentanyl Dealing

A previously convicted methamphetamine and fentanyl dealer has been sentenced to over 12 years in prison, authorities announced on Friday.

Daniel Ryan Robinson, 43, of Arden, N.C., was sentenced to 151 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for dealing methamphetamine and fentanyl, U.S. Attorney Dena J. King said.

According to court filings and court proceedings, Robinson pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine on October 31, 2022.

Court records show that between August 2019 and November 2019, Robinson was found to be in possession of more than 280 grams of methamphetamine and 35 grams of fentanyl.

Over the course of the investigation, law enforcement also recovered from Robinson’s residence and vehicle two firearms and ammunition, authorities said.

In 2013, Robinson was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin, records show.

Robinson is currently in federal custody and will be transferred to the custody of the federal Bureau of Prisons upon designation of a federal facility, authorities said.

U.S. Attorney King thanked the ATF and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office for their investigation of the case. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Asheville handled the prosecution.
