Fayetteville Woman Pleads Guilty to Sex Trafficking of a Minor

GREENVILLE, North Carolina – A Fayetteville woman has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a minor, a crime that carries a penalty of not more than life in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.

Daquanjra Tasha White, 28, of Fayetteville, pleaded guilty to one count of Sex Trafficking of Children in federal court, according to a statement from the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Robert J. Higdon, Jr.

The crime occurred throughout the fall of 2015 into 2016, when White met the minor on Facebook and convinced her to meet with her. White took pictures of the minor in various stages of undress, posted them on Backpage, and arranged for her to have sex for money with men. White also took portions of the monies collected and told the minor what to charge and what to do, even stating that the girl worked for her.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Fayetteville Police Department conducted the investigation of this case, and Assistant United States Attorney Daniel P. Bubar is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.

White’s sentencing is pending, and she faces a maximum penalty of life in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
