A Waterbury man has admitted to his role in a brazen bank robbery in Killingworth.
Dario Pabey, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery for his involvement in the August 2012 robbery of TD Bank on Route 81 in Killingworth.
According to court documents and statements made in court, Pabey and his co-defendant entered the bank wearing masks and demanded that everyone lie on the floor. They then took money from the bank and its patrons, and fled the scene in a customer’s vehicle.
The investigation revealed that $43,573 was stolen during the robbery.
Pabey has been detained since his arrest on September 7, 2012, and is scheduled to be sentenced by United States District Judge Janet C. Hall on May 20, 2013. He faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years and a fine of up to $250,000.
Pabey’s co-defendant, Jennifer Jacques, has also pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing.
The investigation into the robbery was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Connecticut State Police, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Ray Miller and Sarala Nagala.
