ORLANDO, FLORIDA – A West Melbourne man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking operation.
Darrell Lamar Corbin, 35, of West Melbourne, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Wendy W. Berger for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Corbin pleaded guilty on January 3, 2025, to charges stemming from the discovery of over 400 grams of a mixture and substance containing fentanyl and over 5 grams of methamphetamine in his apartment.
The discovery was made after law enforcement executed a search warrant at Corbin’s home, where they also seized drug distribution paraphernalia, including digital scales, pill presses, and an electronic money counter.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the West Melbourne Police Department, and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert D. Sowell.
Corbin’s 15-year sentence is a result of his involvement in the trafficking operation, which had the potential to cause significant harm to the community.
As a result of his actions, Corbin will now serve 15 years in federal prison, a stark reminder of the consequences of engaging in illicit activities.
