Darryl Deshaun Humphrey, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Tennessee 2025

Nashville, TN – A local felon on bond for drug and firearms offenses has been federally charged with additional firearm and drug crimes.

Darryl Deshaun Humphrey, 49, of Nashville, has been charged by criminal complaint with being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine, and possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, announced Acting United States Attorney Robert E. McGuire for the Middle District of Tennessee.

Humphrey was already on bond for previous charges including Possession with Intent to Distribute more than 26 grams of cocaine, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Evading Arrest, and Resistin.

According to court documents, on June 19, 2025, Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) officers conducted a traffic stop which resulted in Humphrey’s arrest.

Officers saw Humphrey standing outside the driver side door of a Cadillac Escalade in a gas station parking lot, and after a routine traffic stop, they discovered a large plastic bag containing a white rocky substance consistent with controlled substances, a firearm on the driver’s seat, and a Ruger, Caliber: 9x19mm pistol and a Caspian, Caliber: .45 ACP pistol.

Further search of the Escalade revealed two large plastic bags containing approximately 257 grams and 378.9 grams of fentanyl, as well as 1.27 pounds of suspected cocaine, multiple tablets and/or pills identified as various controlled substances, and approximately $18,600 in U.S. Currency.

With multiple prior felony convictions, including Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substance – Cocaine .5grams or more, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine in U.S. District Court, Humphrey faces serious charges for his continued involvement in the illicit trafficking of narcotics and firearms.

“Our Bond Watch program prioritizes keeping felons who are on bond for serious offenses but get caught with guns and deadly drugs like fentanyl off the streets of our community,” said Acting United States Attorney Robert E. McGuire.

Humphrey’s case is a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat narcotics trafficking and the importance of holding accountable those who continually disregard the law.
